Privacy Policy

This is the web page of the Dubrovnik International Economic Meeting, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Dubrovnik, Croatia (hereinafter: DIEM).

DIEM is committed to protecting visitors' (hereinafter: the Visitor) personal data in a way that it collects only the necessary, basic information about Visitors that are necessary for the fulfillment of DIEM's objectives, and gives Visitors an option of using their data, including the possibility to decide whether or not to remove their name from lists used for marketing campaigns. All Visitor information is strictly confidential and available only where such information is necessary to perform the job. All employees of the University of Dubrovnik and its partners are responsible for compliance with these privacy principles.

For each Visitor to the Website of DIEM, the web server automatically recognizes their IP address, but only for overall usage and reporting. No data is stored that can personally identify the Visitor. DIEM does not collect information about Visitors. The information DIEM collects is used for internal audits and then discarded.

Cookies

Cookies are small documents that are temporarily stored on the Visitor's hard drive and allow the Website to recognize the Visitor's computer when they visit the Website again. The provider uses cookies only to collect information related to the use of the Website. The Website uses data from Google Analytics for advertising and marketing purposes. Cookies such as Google Analytics cookies are used to optimize the Visitor's ad views on the pages they visit and to track their visits to those pages. Based on the Visitor's interests, data from Google advertising and third-party data (such as age, sex and interest) are used in combination with Google Analytics to better understand, analyze, and optimize advertising and site performance.

Use of Personal Data

If the Visitor provides DIEM with their email address to receive information, they will receive only the information for which they entered their address. If the Visitor allows DIEM to provide them information via e-mail, they will receive only the information they have requested. DIEM does not provide any personal information collected on the Website, including forms or lists of contacts from e-mail, to third parties, except for the purpose of fulfilling DIEM's objectives. The Visitor's personal information may be used for purposes other than previously stated only if DIEM informs the Visitor about it and gives them the possibility to reject it.

Identifying the Visitor

DIEM respects the Visitor's privacy. Every communication between DIEM and the Visitor is considered strictly confidential. DIEM guarantees that all information the Visitor provides to DIEM will be kept with the utmost care and will not be used in a way the Visitor did not agree to. DIEM does not sell or rent any personal information collected on the website, including forms or mailing lists. DIEM does not reveal the identity of the Visitor unless it is legally required to do so or if it has obtained the Visitor's consent.

At the Visitor's request, DIEM will allow the Visitor access to all available information that may include financial information (e.g. credit card information), transaction data (e.g. data on dates when they paid for DIEM registration), correspondence (e.g. e-mails, inquiries), and contact information (e.g. name, address, phone number). The Visitor may correct this information by sending an e-mail to DIEM's address, by calling the telephone number, or by writing to the address listed on the Contact page.
